Travis is a Brazialian jiu-jitsu athlete and coach who began training in his early 20s at 10th Planet. At brown belt, he became the head nogi instructor at Checkmat affiliate Bay Jiu-Jitsu. In 2014, Travis was awarded his black belt by Leo Vieira and Stephan Goyne. In 2019, Travis opened his own school, Magalit Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, in San Francisco’s Excelsior neighborhood, where he was born and raised. Although he enjoys his new roles as gym owner, coach, and mentor, Travis still actively competes. He is the current Fight to Win 155-lb champion. Travis’s well-rounded game is highlighted by strong leglocks, a deft kimura trap system, and dynamic passing.
